The Stormwater Management and Road Tunnel System

The Stormwater Management and Road Tunnel (SMART) system will be operational on June 23 2007

It will divert excess floodwater from the Ampang and Klang rivers to the Kampung Berembang holding pond in Ampang, a bypass tunnel and a storage reservoir in Taman Desa.

The water will then be released back downstream of the Klang and Kerayong rivers.

The public can expert flash floods like what swept through Kuala Lumpur on Sunday to be averted once it is operational.
